I have extensive cello teaching experience both privately and in schools. I am currently a cello teacher for the London Music Masters as well as the Junior Royal Academy of Music First String Experience. 

I believe in a teaching approach where musical understanding and enjoyment are at the heart of learning. I use a lot of singing and rhythmic games in my lessons, particularly when teaching beginners and encourage my pupils to engage their imaginations at all times when playing the cello. I encourage my pupils to explore a wide variety of musical styles and am always really pleased when they bring me something new which they have discovered for themselves.

I have extensive teaching experience at both beginner and advanced levels and whilst I do not use exams as a basis for my teaching, am happy to enter pupils for exams if they feel that is something which they want to do.

Performance is such an important part of music - making and I encourage my pupils to take part in class concerts, as well as helping them find appropriate orchestras and ensembles to join.

I am fully DBS checked.
